One of the biggest desires that we have as humans is to live a life that is happy and fulfilling. But in the modern world that we live in, it can be hard to get a real grip on reality and what seems achievable as a lifestyle. You might feel like you’ve lost touch with some of the things that make you feel happy. With family commitments, social life, career, and trying to be healthy, it can feel like a full-time job just keeping on top of it all. So although it might feel like it is a little difficult to live your best life, it is something that is definitely achievable and within your grasp.

But it starts with you. So if you feel stuck in a bit of a rut, then here are some practical tips to help you to live your best life.

1. Set Intentions

First things first, let’s talk about setting intentions. One of the best ways to achieving and having success is being intentional about what you want to do. As a rule, if you’re able to set an intention, then you are much more likely to have the drive to achieve what you set out to do. By setting an intention or a few of them, it can help you to feel like you are living your life with purpose, and it will give you something with which to measure your success. So set intentions, and it will make you much more focused on the things you want to do in your life.

An aside: What’s the difference between an intention and a goal?

Some people use goal and intention interchangeably. While they’re similar in some ways, there are some key differences between the two.

An intention is more of a broad statement about how you want to live your life or what you want to achieve. It’s less specific than a goal and tends to be focused on the bigger picture. For example, your intention might be to live a more meaningful life or to be more present in your relationships.

On the other hand, a goal is a more specific and measurable target. It’s something that you can break down into smaller steps and work towards over time. For example, a goal might be to save up $10,000 for a down payment on a house, or to run a 5k race in under 30 minutes.

So, to sum it up, intentions are more about the overall direction you want to go in, while goals are specific targets that you want to hit along the way. Both are important for achieving what you want in life, but they serve slightly different purposes.

2. Invest in Your Health

One of the other things you can do to live your best life is to always be improving your health in all the “ally” ways – physically, mentally, and socially, emotionally, and intellectually. When you prioritize your health, you give yourself the foundation you need to pursue your goals and passions with energy and enthusiasm. Here are a few reasons why investing in your health is so important.

Physical health: When you take care of your body through regular exercise, healthy eating, and proper sleep, you feel better physically. You have more energy, your body is better able to fight off illness and disease, and you can enjoy the activities you love with less pain and discomfort. Having things like regular checkups are important to make sure you deal with things as and when they come up.

Mental health: Your physical health and mental health are closely linked. When you prioritize your physical health, you also benefit your mental health. Exercise, for example, has been shown to improve mood and reduce symptoms of depression and anxiety. Eating a healthy diet can also have a positive impact on your mental health, as can getting enough sleep.

Emotional health: Emotional health is about being aware of and managing your emotions in a healthy way. When you prioritize your emotional health, you are better equipped to deal with stress, handle challenges, and maintain healthy relationships. This can include things like practicing self-care, seeking therapy or counseling, or finding healthy outlets for stress relief.

Social Health: Humans are social creatures, and having a strong social support network is important for overall well-being. When you invest in your social life, you can build meaningful connections with others and feel a sense of belonging. This can include things like spending time with friends and family, joining social clubs or groups, or volunteering in your community.

Intellectual health: Intellectual health is about engaging your mind and continuing to learn and grow throughout your life. When you prioritize intellectual health, you can expand your knowledge and skills, stay curious, and find new passions and interests. This can include things like reading, taking classes or workshops, or pursuing creative hobbies.

3. Practice Daily Self-Love

We all work hard in our jobs and with our family relationships and relationships with friends. But how many of us put in as much time on our relationship with ourselves? Which is where some daily self-love can help. You won’t be able to live your best life if you are not looking after yourself or aren’t considering your own emotional state. There are a whole host of things you can do and it will depend on your preferences. But something like a bubble bath, watching a funny movie, or sunbathing are examples. Whatever little things help you feel good, do them as often as you can!

Here are a few examples:

Improved self-esteem: When you practice self-love regularly, you are sending a message to yourself that you are worthy of love and care. This can help to boost your self-esteem and confidence.

Reduced stress and anxiety: Taking time to focus on yourself and your needs can help to reduce stress and anxiety. By prioritizing self-care, you are giving yourself permission to slow down and relax, which can help to improve your overall well-being.

Better relationships: When you practice self-love, you are more likely to have healthy boundaries and to communicate your needs effectively. This can help to improve your relationships with others, as you are better able to advocate for yourself and maintain healthy connections.

So, how can you practice daily self-love?

Practice positive self-talk: Instead of criticizing yourself, focus on positive self-talk. Affirmations such as “I am worthy” and “I am enough” can help to boost your self-esteem.

Make time for self-care: Whether it’s taking a bubble bath, reading a book, or going for a walk, make sure to carve out time each day for activities that make you feel good.

Set boundaries: Saying “no” to things that don’t serve you and setting healthy boundaries can be an act of self-love. It’s okay to prioritize your needs and take a step back when necessary.

By prioritizing all aspects of your health, you are showing yourself that you are important and worthy of care to create the life that is truly fulfilling and enjoyable. Yes, it can be challenging to balance all of these different areas, but SMALL steps make a BIG difference. Whether it’s taking a few minutes each day to practice self-care, calling a friend to catch up, or trying a new hobby, investing in yourself and your well-being is always worth it.
